Phoenix is located in Central Arizona in the heart of the Sonoran Desert. With a population of over 1.5 million people, Phoenix is the fifth largest city in the United States. Phoenix shares a border with many towns and cities, including Scottsdale and Paradise Valley.

Phoenix is home to a large variety of cultural attractions and sports teams. From the Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanical Garden to the Phoenix Art Museum and the Heard Museum, there are plenty of things to explore and enrich your mind.

For the sports fans, Phoenix is the home to multiple professional sports teams - The Arizona Diamondbacks, the Arizona Cardinals, the Phoenix Suns and the Phoenix Coyotes. Two of the major sports venues, Chase Field (baseball) and the US Airways Center (basketball), are located downtown and the new University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona hosted the Superbowl in 2008.

If you like hiking, Phoenix is home to Camelback Mountain, an immediately-known landmark in the skyline. While the hike can be challenging, the views from the top are phenomenal. For less-experienced hikers, there are several other areas to enjoy.
